Job Description:
- The Database Administrator (DBA)is primarily responsible for the design, development, performance, integrity and security of the company’s numerous databases.

Responsibilities:
Map out the ‘conceptual design’ for a planned database in outline
- Maintain data standards, including adherence to the Data Protection Act
- Write database documentation, including data standards, procedures and definitions for the data dictionary (‘metadata’)
- Control access permissions and privileges
- Develop, manage and test backup and recovery plans
- Work closely with IT project managers, database programmers and web developers. Communicate regularly with technical, applications and operational staff to ensure database integrity and security
- Test and install new applications as well as new versions of Database Management Systems
- Actively cross-train with IT team members to provide backup support for System Administration
- Installation of MYSQL5.0, SQL Server 2000 & advance version and Oracle9i & advance version
- Establish the needs of users and monitor user access and security
- Monitor performance and manage parameters to provide fast query responses to 'front end' users
- Assist in the design and implementation of queries to meet the reporting needs of end-users. Provide technical tutoring and teaching as needed

Qualifications:
- Excellent problem solving skill with realistic approaches
- Must have demonstrated ability to succeed in a team-oriented, product development environment
- Strong communication skill with positive attitude and commitment
- Proactively anticipate and act on issues before they occur and be able to resolve issues in a timely and professional manner
- Minimum MSC in computer science, MCA, BE preferred
- Minimum Three years experience in Database Administrator
Technical Skills:
- High level knowledge of SQL (MSSQL, Oracle, DB2, etc.), Windows 2000/2003, Active Directory, UNIX/Linux
- 3+ years experience as a Database Administrator in troubleshooting network, workstation, server, and application issues
- Excellent in MYSQL5.0, SQL Server 2000 & advance version and Oracle9i & advance version
- Knowledge of various programming languages. Experience with java a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Self-starter, detail oriented, independent worker
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
- Able to multi-task and handle a fast pace
