At IndoGlobal Knowledge (IGK), we believe strongly that technology is an enabler in any research endeavour and not an end in itself. The less we change or expect the researchers and all users to change their way of working through use of technology, the more comfortable we make them to concentrate on what they do best and leave the essential but non-core parts of their line of work to the back-end. This, we strongly believe, allows for better research and more efficient knowledge management since the users spend more time doing what they are good at than learning and adapting to ever-changing technology. We envision that all kinds of users (whether a researcher, a manager, a decision maker, an investor or an external party like the patent office) should work with maximum flexibility to continue doing their job in the way most comfortable and best defined by them, while letting technology handle whatever alterations to the process are needed. IGK's unique and common sense approach is to create a team of domain experts and users of the product under consideration, and use domain knowledge and expertise, and not technology, as a starting point. |
